YFC is more effective at correcting Hgb (A) and hematocrit (B) levels than ferrous sulfate
. Animals maintained on the ID diet and those receiving yeast without H-ferritin and additional iron showed no increase in either measure. By 9 days, animals ingesting YFC had higher Hgb and hematocrit compared to the ferrous sulfate group (**p<0.01) and the difference was greater at 14 days ( ***p<0.001)
