MRI revealed a well-defined extramedullary, intradural cystic lesion in the cervical spinal canal anterior to the spinal cord at the C2-C3 level, displacing and compressing the cervical cord posteriorly. The lesion showed dependent T1 hyperintense and T2 hypointense content, suggestive of an infranatant with increased protein-containing material. The extramedullary intradural lesion revealed no restricted diffusion or contrast enhancement.
