Groups of mice were infected with either L. donovani, L. donovani- P. berghei or P. berghei and their body weights taken each day post co-infection for 10 days. A naïve mice group was also included in the study. The mean body weight of L. donovani- P. berghei co-infected mice group showed a significant decrease and a slight drop in the mean body weight of L. donovani- only infected mice group was observed. Plasmodium berghei- only infected mice group had a slight and the naïve control had an increase in mean body weight up to the end of the experimental period
